Mrs. Micha’s Child Care, LLC.

         Hello My name is Mrs. Micha Sutherland. I am the Owner and Director here at        Mrs. Micha's Child Care, LLC. I have 5 children who I adore spending time with every day. I have been Working in child care for well over 20 years now… I Love what I do! I have my 45+ hrs. of teaching Certificates with DCF, FCCPC, Staff & VPK Credentials, VPK endorsed Directors Credentials, CPR and First Aid, Diabetic Training, Trauma Informed Care, Pearls, AA and AS from TCC in Early Childhood Education and business Management along many, many more trainings… I have been a part of the Rose Child Care LLC Family since 2010, and I still enjoy working here just as much as I did the first day I stepped in the door! It is such a Great, Loving environment and I am so pleased to have the opportunity to have become the owner in 2024. Thank you for choosing us to be apart of your family & community so we are able to be a part of your child's development & everyday life. 

       Each classroom has a monthly newsletter to keep the parents updated on the activities that we will be doing and the topics that we will be learning about each week. We also have Dance Class on Wednesdays, Soccer Class & "Show and Tell" on Thursdays in the older Classrooms. On our Special Event Fun Fridays we have different themed events in various classrooms, such as… Pajama Parties, Movie Days, Popcorn Party, Karaoke Parties, Ice Cream Parties, Cooking Projects, Super Hero Days, Etc… Etc… 

                                                                      My Personal Teaching Philosophy:                                                                        I feel very strongly that Language comes First. I believe that every child can flourish under a productive, loving, safe and encouraging environment. I believe that most children will "talk it out" with you, over any type of punishment. I do Not like "Time Outs". I prefer to talk to the children and try to encourage them to make the best choices they can and to redirect them if needed. I believe that if a child is overwhelmed, they, just like adults, may need to take a personal minute to get away from the stresses of their environment, in order to collect themselves. This helps them to get away from whatever the situation maybe so they are  able to calm themselves down and rejoin their peers in a calm manner so they are ready to learn and play. I have a wonderful Quiet Time Area for this. They are able to go there and relax with pillows, blankets, books, stuffed animals, a felt board and even a puppet theater. If the child is not able to be calmed down threw "Talking it out" or "taking a minute", then we would step into the front office and try to talk it out again in a little more quiet and secluded area, away from all peers and distractions. If things continued, then a parent would be called. Here at MMCC we strive to promote Independence for all students through each age/stage of life. So aside from the planning and preparations, the students get to "do it for themselves". I am always following behind them in order to assist them in any way possible, but at most stages they want to do it all by themselves... This is a Great way for me to be able to become their personal Stepping Stone in their Learning Environments in order to help them grow into Independent, Happy, Successful Humans.
